Briga Heelan is an American actress, comedian, and writer. She is known for her roles as Jules in the NBC sitcom “Great News,” Jackie Clarke in the NBC comedy series “Undateable”, and Fran Westin in the ABC drama series “Counseling”. She has also appeared in the television series such as “Ground Floor”, “Love”, and “Superstore”. She has acted in a number of movies, including Playing It Cool, Table 19, Journey to Space, and The Unicorn. Heelan trained at The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles.
She is best known for her roles as Dr. LolaSpratt in the TBS comedy series “Ground Floor”, and as Kim in the NBC sitcom “Great News”. She also wrote for the Fox animated comedy “Allen Gregory” and appeared as a correspondent on “The Jay Leno Show”. Heelan was born in Evanston, Illinois on April 11, 1985 to parents Sean and Kim Heelan. She graduated from Brown University with a degree in theater in 2006. After college she became an intern on Saturday Night Live while taking improv classes at UCB Theater in New York City. Heelan starred opposite Skylar Astin in the ABC Family sitcom “Gigantic” which ran for one season between 2010 and 2011. Since 2012 she has appeared as a guest star on TV shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Community, New Girl, Baby Daddy, Arrested Development and How I Met Your Mother. She then landed the role of Dr. LolaSpratt in Ground Floor which ran for two seasons from 2013-2015. Heelan then moved onto her hometown network NBC to play Kim on Great News which aired between 2017-2018. Heelan is married to fellow actor Dan O’Brien with whom she has a daughter named Eloise Margaret O’Brien who was born on September 16th 2019. Since 2017 they have been housemates with acclaimed actor/writers Jack McBrayer and Lauren Lapkus who are well known for their podcast “Raised By TV” featuring fellow comedians Kassem G., Nicole Parker, Lennon Parham and other actors from “Saturday Night Live” alumni including John Mulaney, Paul Brittain and Tim Meadows; former Ground Floor star Rob Huebel; popular podcast host Chris Hardwick; former Community cast member Joel McHale; “The Office” cast member BJ Novak; and comics Natasha Leggero and Rory Scovel
Briga Heelan’s feet could best be described as slender and petite. Her toes are often painted with bright colors, such as hot pink and metallics. When it comes to bearing her feet, Heelan looks confident and unshy, with no inhibitions about flaunting her foot-wear or going barefoot in public. Her legs are angular, with toned musculature, often highlighted by short skirts and dresses.
